Fredonian Rebellion

Who: Haden Edwards, Benjamin Edwards (Brothers)
What: Haden Edwards required all settlers to have a land title or purchase one. He was not allowed to do this. Benjamin Edwards led a revolt taking over Nacogdoches. They left when the Mexican army arrived.
Where: Nacogdoches
When: 1825
Why: Rebellion occured because Edwards was unhappy about his contract being cancelled.
